Burnout is a state of emotional and physical exhaustion caused by a prolonged period of stress and frustration.
These are body-related signs. They may include loss or increased appetite, changes in sleeping patterns, insomnia, chronic fatigue, unexpected pains and headaches, etc.
One way to overcome burnout is to take a break and get some rest. If you fail to rest, your body would be unable to carry out daily tasks, and your business would suffer.
These are signs that affect your state of feeling. They include irritation, boredom, feeling of numbness, lack of focus, mood swings, loss of motivation, helplessness, increased dissatisfaction, etc.
Apart from physical remedies to burnout like resting, exercising, and eating right, another way to overcome burnout is to keep your mind at ease.
It is not uncommon for business owners to think about their business even as they lie in bed. So as soon as it becomes apparent that you are burnt out, delegate your key tasks to the best hands you can find, either within or outside your business.
So that you don’t need to worry about anything.
These signs are manifested in how a business owner behaves or conducts himself or herself, particularly towards others.
Some of these signs include procrastination, isolating yourself from others, coping with food, drugs, or alcohol, taking out your frustrations on others, etc.
Dedicate time to set your priorities straight. Re-evaluate what is most important to you, your goals, and your dreams, and find what truly makes you happy.
Identifying or overcoming business owner burnout is not always easy. It takes hard work and dedication to come out on the other side, but in the end, the business is better for it.
